Lakeway's November Calendar Runs Through 105 Cross Creek

October 22, 2026

The Lakeway Activity Center sits at 105 Cross Creek. Between the first Saturday of November and the middle of the month, the City of Lakeway's November calendar lists four public events there: a garage sale, a free big band dance, a blood drive and a Sunday afternoon Nutcracker program. The playscape outside that building is also the only part of the 2024 parks bond that residents can use today.

That pattern will hold for a while. Lakeway voters approved a $22 million parks bond in 2024. Most of its new outdoor space is still being built or designed, and the new parks run on 2027 timelines. Until they open, Lakeway's public life happens indoors at Cross Creek and in the private studios that open for one weekend a year.

The November Calendar, In Order

Here is the month's public schedule as the City and the Lakeway Arts District list it.

Date Time Event Location
Fri., Nov. 6 6 p.m. social, 7 p.m. performance Art Walk Artist Open House and TexARTS Performance TexARTS Theatre & Academy, 1110 RM 620 S
Sat., Nov. 7 8 a.m. to noon City-Wide Indoor Garage Sale Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek
Sat., Nov. 7 and Sun., Nov. 8 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art Walk Self-Guided Studio Tours Studios across Lakeway; maps at the Lakeway Heritage Center
Mon., Nov. 9 7 to 9 p.m. Big Band Bash Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek
Wed., Nov. 11 11 a.m. Veterans Day Ceremony Lakeway Resort & Spa, 101 Lakeway Dr.

Sun., Nov. 15 4 to 5 p.m. Arts in the Afternoon: The Nutcracker Suite Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek

Saturday, Nov. 7 is the busiest day. The indoor garage sale runs until noon, and the Art Walk studios open at 10 a.m. That gives you two hours to do both, or a morning at the garage sale and an afternoon on the studio route. City offices close on Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and again on Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving.

The Arts Committee Runs Most Of The Month

The Lakeway Arts Committee is behind much of this calendar. It presents the Big Band Bash, which brings the 17-piece Republic of Texas Big Band to the Activity Center with David Cummings on vocals. The show is free and open to all ages. Bring your own drinks and snacks, and the band takes donations after the set. If you have questions before the night, the City's events line is 512-261-1010.

The committee also organizes the 2026 Lakeway Art Walk, the one event this month that takes the calendar away from Cross Creek and into studios around the city. The weekend has three stops:

  1. Friday night at TexARTS. The artist open house starts with a 6 p.m. social, and a TexARTS performance follows at 7 p.m.
  2. Saturday or Sunday morning at the Lakeway Heritage Center. This is where you pick up the official studio maps and artist catalogs. The Arts District says digital maps will also be posted online.
  3. The studio route, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Stops include artist galleries, private studios and pop-up venues showing paintings, sculpture, ceramics, photography and mixed media.

The studio list was still unannounced on the City calendar as of mid-October. Artist registration closed Oct. 18 at 5 p.m., and the Arts District says the official maps and artist catalogs will be at the Heritage Center. Make the Heritage Center your first stop.

The event has also moved around the calendar. The Arts District's archives show an April Art Walk in 2024 and an October Art Walk in 2025. This year it lands in November, the week after Halloween, on the same Saturday as the garage sale.

The Bond Project You Can Already Use Is At Cross Creek Too

The parks bond's first finished project is the all-inclusive playscape at the Activity Center, which was completed in September 2025. Community Impact reported that it was drawing about 50 to 100 visitors a day. It was designed for children of different ages and abilities. It has natural play features, new landscaping and picnic areas, and the Rotary Club of Lakeway/Lake Travis gave $50,000 toward it.

That puts a playground beside a building that hosts four public events in nine days. An event morning at Cross Creek now has an outdoor half, which the site didn't have two years ago.

The Other Parks Are Running On 2027 Timelines

The rest of the bond is further out. Here is where each project stood in the most recent reporting.

Project Status this fall Next milestone
Butler Rough Hollow Park, 708 Tomichi Trail Under construction since a July 6, 2026 groundbreaking Public opening expected summer 2027
Lakeway City Park, $10.6 million redesign In design with Dunaway Design wraps by January; construction bid estimated fall 2027
Lakeway Swim Center, more than $6 million allocated Searching for an engineering firm Request for qualifications possibly by early 2027

Butler Rough Hollow Park is the closest to opening. Community Impact's July report lists an amphitheater with limestone seating, a mountain bike course, a ninja course, a bank-shot court, a multisports field, a shaded playground with slides and swings, a pavilion, restrooms and picnic areas. The opening date has already moved once. Reporting from December 2025 put it at spring 2027, and the July 2026 coverage and the City calendar now say summer 2027. In September, the City also accepted a $50,000 donation for Butler Park improvements from RH Lakeway Development, LTD.

Lakeway City Park will change the most for anyone who uses it now. The concept plans include a full loop for vehicle traffic, a looped walking trail, a skate park and pump track, new pickleball courts and lake overlooks. The sand volleyball court and the dog park would both move, and the new dog park would have separate areas for large and small dogs. With bidding estimated for fall 2027, construction can't start before then. For now, the City Park you visit this fall is the same one you visited last fall.

The Swim Center is the earliest-stage project. Parks and Recreation Director Andra Bennett told Community Impact that the city wants a "unique engineering firm" for the facility. On the overall pace, she said, "We're trying to get these [projects] cranked out as fast as we can, and I say that with a caveat of making sure that we're doing quality parks and park projects in the process."

What The Gap Means For The Next Year Of Weekends

The new outdoor spaces come in 2027 at the earliest: Butler Rough Hollow in the summer, and City Park construction no earlier than the fall bid. Until then, the City's main gathering place is the Activity Center, with its event rooms and the bond-funded playscape outside. TexARTS and the Lakeway Resort & Spa host the month's other big events.

That makes the Art Walk stand out. For one weekend, it is the only event on the calendar that spreads across the whole city instead of concentrating in one spot. It runs on studios that local artists already own, and it doesn't wait on a construction schedule. Pick up a map at the Lakeway Heritage Center on Nov. 7 or 8 and the route is yours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lakeway's park map will look different by late 2027, and buyers will be asking about Butler Rough Hollow and the new City Park before the ribbons are cut.
